And Then – Jason Morey

This photo series explores the relationship between cinema and still photography.

Through cinematic lighting and staged composition, I’ve recreated moments from contemporary films, which flaunt strong emotive characteristics.

To appropriate these scenes as my own I have used homes and public sites around Hobart as locations, with my close friends rather than actors modeling.

I like to think that this series can be viewed as movie stills, photographs and possibly real life. The aim of my project is to provide the audience with a collection of tense images that ask – what has, what is and what is about to happen?
