Colours of Japan

Having lived in Japan for 4 years and married to a Japanese woman for 12 years, going back to Japan when we can is part of our life. Our daughter is 10 and our son is 8 years old. Perhaps their energy is what draws me to these colourful subjects.

Who knows why we like things, we just do.

Over 3 weeks in the midst of a Tokyo summer, we roamed the streets both rural and urban. With the family always ahead, I had no time to take shots. The challenge of seeing and the challenge of taking shots in less than a minute has made me hit the target. A Japanese artists once said, "Art is an explosion". In my case an explosion of colour, shape, rhythm and texture. Wherever I go, I see these things, they are all around us, all the time!
